Every elder deserves a good day.

We are a small team of caregivers, nurses and dreamers who believe getting older should mean more friends, more music and more reasons to get dressed in the morning.

A Note From Our Founder

We built the place we wished our own parents had.

In 2014 my father retired, and within a year the man who used to argue cricket with the whole street went quiet. My mother was managing alone while my brother and I were at work. He did not need a hospital. He needed a reason to leave the house.

We looked for a place where he could spend the day with people his own age, sing the old songs and come home tired and happy. We did not find one. So we rented a room in Adyar, hired one wonderful caregiver and invited five of his friends.

That room is now SilverNest. The rule we started with still holds: if we would not want it for our own parents, we do not do it for yours.

Why Day Care

The best of both worlds for your parents

Our Journey

From one room to a second home for hundreds

  1. 2014

    Six chairs and a harmonium

One rented room in Adyar, one caregiver and six members who all knew each other.

  2. 2016

    The garden

Members planted the raised beds themselves. The tomatoes still go into Friday lunch.

  3. 2018

    Nurse and van

A full-time nurse joined, and our own van began door-to-door pick-ups.

  4. 2021

    The family portal

Sons and daughters could see attendance, meals and vitals from the office.

  5. Today

    500+ families

Forty caregivers, ten programs and the same rule we started with.

In Their Own Words

"My son thought I was coming here to be looked after. I come for the music and stay for the friends. At seventy-eight, I did not expect to have a best friend again."
